Give support to the development of robust technical solutions from concept through to production.
Resolve issues in a manufacturing environment through engineering analysis.
Execute tolerance analysis (stack-up) as required.
Collaborate with other related areas in defining requirements for tooling and prototype construction.
Assist other areas involved with material suppliers in situations where design modifications are necessary to facilitate manufacturing or resolve issues after non-design aspects have been addressed.
Communicate and clarify specifications and validation plans defined in conjunction with validation teams from other entities (Rochester, Germany, Customers, etc.). Oversee testing as necessary for the validation of parts, components, and assemblies.
Assist in resolving questions regarding the interpretation of engineering documents such as drawings, specifications, standards, DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly), DVP&R (Design Verification Plan and Report), etc.
Authorize engineering deviations according to established guidelines.
Participate in design reviews with Webasto Engineering, Suppliers, and Customers as required.
Participate in Product Development Teams (PDTs) for assigned products at the plant.
Engage in technical feasibility reviews with suppliers and other involved areas.
Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts.
Report directly to the Engineering Systems Manager (HR) and functionally to the Plant Manager.
Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures for product safety, Quality, IATF 16949, ISO 45001 Health and Safety, ISO 14001 Environment, VDA 6.3, and other applicable standards.
Adhere to company policies and values.
