Senior Quality Engineer

Webasto Convertibles USA Inc. is looking for a Quality Engineer their Plymouth Plant.

1. Quickly analyze all potential supplier quality issues identified from the incoming inspection, manufacturing, or OEM processes by: (1) executing immediate containment/ countermeasures; (2) establishing initial contact to suppliers; (3) providing clean point information to the plant team; (4) initiating Q2 Notifications (Supplier complaints) in SAP; (5) reporting the status of all activity to production teams; and (6) forwarding the information to the supplier quality and manufacturing departments for long-term resolution activities.
2. Facilitate incoming inspection process to ensure conforming product is at production lines by means of: (1) updating incoming inspection control plans; (2) training incoming inspectors on specific inspection techniques and measurement devices; and (3) monitoring incoming inspection area.
3. Monitor the rejected materials located in the quarantine cage and execute the disposition of the materials for all supplier related activities.
4. Monitor supplier chargeback activities to ensure all cost reimbursements are completed within business targets, or as quickly as possible when targets cannot be achieved due to third party cost totals.
5. Effectively work with corporate teams to satisfy customer requirements.
6. Perform problem solving and root cause analysis.
7. Escalate all issues to Quality Manager and VP Purchasing & Supplier Quality which may prohibit adherence to these responsibilities.
8. Follow all corporate procedures, processes, work instructions, guidelines, and best practices used in the automotive industry.
9. Understand, utilize, develop, implement, maintain, and follow all quality system procedures, processes, work instructions, guidelines, forms, etc.
10. Participate in quality system audits as required.
