Webasto Roof Systems Inc. is currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer located in Plymouth, MI.

Job Responsibilities:
- Defining and specifying activities, processes, and standards to fulfill the quality requirements for a service or manufactured material, component or product
- Auditing, monitoring and determining the quality of processes or outputs, either against defined internal and/or regulatory standards
- Product integrity testing, coloring, fitting and pattern and wet processing to ensure orders are in compliance with corporate/customers' quality requirements
- Reporting on process deviations and defects
- Contact person for respective customer on all Quality topics from project phase through to series production
- Prepare, create and maintain product control plans and test instructions for Production
- Monitor and report of relevant Q-targets, work with other functions to identify and implement actions to maintain or improve performance
- Coordinate initial sampling to customer until release, plan and coordinate requalification tests
- Handling and on-time resolution of customer complaints and claims in line with relevant requirements and standards using 8D-method (0km and field claims) according to WIMS Q1 and Q3 process
- Prepare, conduct and document process audits (internal and external), implement actions to resolve non-conformances and ensuring efficiency
- Prepare and implement capability and measurement capability studies to ensure process capability
- Prepare / implement advanced Quality planning and optimize relevant quality planning processes and FMEA results
- Plan and coordinate relevant QM tasks incl. activities and documentation relating to Product & Process release (PPAP)
- Participate in feasibility commitment, risk-analysis, creation of book of duty and implementation of required process
- Analysis of Quality data using statistical tools and software
- May include frequent travel to customers and some international travel, or be stationed at the customer if required
Education and Experience:
- Good technical knowledge of relevant production processes.
- Experience in the application of APQP/QVP, Quality Methods, Tools and Quality Management Systems
- Good knowledge of applicable customer specific requirements and relevant Quality-related company, legal and customer standards
- Good knowledge of problem solving and basic continuous improvement tools, analytical and structured decision making
- Good knowledge of statistical tools and measurement analysis
- Knowledge of product liability law and HSE regulations
- Conflict resolution, communication and negotiation skills
- Good skill level in Microsoft Office and SAP
