Webasto is seeking highly motivated candidates that have experience ensuring excellent technical performance and optimum availability of production equipment to join our team as a ME Engineer Advanced PE (full-time) at our facility in Plymouth, MI. Telecommuting; Hybrid- 4 days in office, 1 day remote.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet efficiency levels during launch to meet high product quality. 
  • Create and maintain within the cross functional team the process Flow Diagrams, FMEAs for new programs.
  • Benchmark all engineering processes against best practices.
  • Establish and maintain equipment standards, mistake proofing standards, and functional test standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and six sigma projects.
  • Create and maintain records of proposed manufacturing processes, including tooling and equipment line-ups and labor content.
  • Work with plant mechanical engineering in the purchase of third-party equipment.
  • Perform product feasibility reviews and approvals with cross functional team CFT.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • US Bachelor’s Degree (or a foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or any Engineering Field.
  • At least three (3) years of experience  as a Manufacturing Engineer or similar position performing the following duties: engineering polyurethane processes for automotive components compliant with VDA (Verband der Automobilindustrie) Standard and IATF/VDA/OEM P-FMEA (perform failure mode and effect analysis); evaluating manufacturing processes and optimizing machinery control parameters and lean manufacturing; capacity planning for production including equipment and labor; customer specification requirements implementation and controlling engineering documentation and records.
