Webasto Thermo and Comfort is looking to add a Quality Technician to our team in Monrovia, CA!
Position Summary:
Assist the Quality Manager and Manufacturing team to solve quality related problems and ensure released processes and procedures are being followed appropriately.
Inspects products to ensure specified quality level. Functionally tests customer returns.
The ability to interact with highly confidential information in a professional manner, interact courteously with staff members and management team, remain flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient; professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role. Written and verbal communication skills, work and attention to details are equally important.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Act as a customer and supplier contact for various quality concerns.
- Use tools, check fixtures, and other instruments to check the dimensions of parts.
- Follow ISO-14001, and IATF-TS16949 processes, as required.
- Issue RMA’s and track return material through the MRP system.
- Assist in resolving internal (plant) and external (customer, supplier) quality issues.
- Perform functional testing of customer product returned via RMA’s and provide disposition.
- Issue non-conformances where applicable and track through the MRP system.
- Perform incoming inspections, utilizing appropriate tools as required.
- Monitor rejected material in quarantine and maintain accurate inventories on quality hold.
- Participate in Layered Process Audits as required.
- Responsible for calibration, labeling and maintenance of gages, including GR&R.
- Conduct and document random audits of manufacturing products & processes.
- Responsibility and right to stop production or shipment if product does not meet quality standards.
- Ability to work in office and plant environment (constant back and forth).
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma required. College experience preferred.
- Minimum 2 year’s quality related experience (power systems, electronics, software preferred)
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of core tools: MSA, SPC, APQP, PPAP, FMEA’s, 8D’s, Problem Solving.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to work in team oriented environment
- Take hands-on approach when required
- Able to travel up to 20% in US and Canada
- Knowledge of IATF-16949, and ISO-14001

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to normal in-office weather conditions/environment. The nature of the work has frequent interruptions; contact with the vendors and employees and requires communication skills coupled with constant exposure to confidential information. All safety rules must be followed while in the facility or while visiting outside customers/vendors. Proper PPE must be used for all situations. May be required to work beyond normal working hours.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
This role is an hourly role starting at the rate of $23.86/hour.
