Lead Systems Engineer

Webasto is looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to help support our rapidly growing Charging Division.       

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overall responsible for the system design and engineering deliverables in development projects and series for the P3 product line. (Bi-directional power processing systems to test electric and hybrid electric vehicle components and sub-systems e.g., batteries).
  • Directs Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Test and Regulatory engineers and technicians within the project
  • Responsible for system requirements, compliance matrix, trace matrix, product definition document (PDD), DFMEA and BOM
  • Ensures the quality of design reviews and verifies the design complies with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Creates schedules that contribute to the master project schedule and manages the technical team to the schedule
  • Participates in requirements planning and documentation, conceptual designs, make/buy analyses, test methodology, design documentation, anomaly tracking and resolution, design reviews, and hardware/software debugging
  • Partnering and outsourcing to proven partners will also be required, and tracking/reporting of project progress with outsource partners.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience leading an engineer team
  • Experienced in designing software embedded systems
  • Experienced in power electronics
  • Experience with planning, executing and managing outsourced developments (partial or turn-key)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills including ability to communicate and foster communication between collaborating groups.
  • Experience with key project management tools: WBS, Gantt charts, risk assessment and mitigation
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role

Education

  • Electrical engineer BS, Master degree is a plus

Required travel: up to 20%
