Webasto is looking for a HSE Engineer to support our rapidly growning Charging division.

 

Responsibility

    • Ensures written HS&E policies and procedures are in place and effectively communicated/implemented throughout the organization.
    • Provides guidance in determining HS&E training priorities and implements programs to address needs.
    • Ensure that Webasto meets all federal, state and local HS&E laws and regulations through the implementation of an effectively integrated HS&E system.
    • Keep abreast of regulatory/company changes/requirements and acts proactively with the facility leadership team to ensure continued adherence to requirements.
    • Provides assistance to respective Human Resource colleagues to ensure OSHA record keeping requirements are met.
    • Provide technical support to operating management, HS&E committees/teams and the Webasto Human Resources community.
    • Conduct HS&E inspections/audits Works with the respective plant management teams in developing appropriate action plans to address the audit/inspection findings.
    • Provides meaningful statistics to management in a timely manner to assist in identifying trends and establishing HS&E goals/objectives and thus continually improving the HS&E systems.
    • Manages Hazard Communication Program for Webasto.
    • Provides leadership/assistance to the respective plant’s Health and Safety and Ergonomics Committees thereby ensuring the committee’s continuing effectiveness.

 

 

Skills

  • Post Secondary Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent degree with listed years of experience.
  • 3 to 5 years health and safety/environmental (experience with ISO 14001) experience in a manufacturing (preferably automotive) environment with knowledge of light assembly operations and polyurethane molding operations. Strength in Health and Safety but must have a “grounding” in environmental areas of waste(RCRA), air (permitting process) and Community Right to Know. (EPCRA)
  • Experience as liaison with state OSHA and Environmental Protection personnel. Facility contact for these regulatory bodies.
  • Strong knowledge of ergonomic principles and their practical implement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be seen as a positive facility team member and at the same time as a respected “expert/leader” in the HS&E area. ( “Hands On” when needed and “Technical Resource” at other times.)
  • Assertive, goal oriented highly motivated self-starter with a strong sense of urgency for HS&E integration and project/issue completion.
  • Relies on judgment and exper. to accomp. pers. and facility HS&E goals.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and recognize priorities.
  • Must be comfortable and effective in conducting HS&E training.
  • Must become (if not already) certified in First Aid/CPR and AED use
