Webasto Thermo & Comfort Italy Srl, a multinational company specialized in the design, production and distribution of air conditioning and refrigeration systems for vehicles, is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to be included in R&D

 

Principali Attività ed Obiettivi:

 

  • Mechanical Design Engineering and Mechanical System Integration Engineering of HVAC and Refrigeration products
  • Definition/design of mechanical components of the product, as well as verification, approval and release of drawings
  • Calculation of sizing / verification (FEM analysis)
  • Responsible for the creation, updating and maintaining of the drawings archive for components
  • Supporting the strategy of the reuse of components (VPM – Virtual Product Management)
  • Responsible for the creation, updating and maintaining of the Design guidelines
  • Manage the layout of projects, components and systems
  • Definition and issuing of specifications / test procedures for type tests of series and for FAI
  • Develop 3D solid and surface models
  • Generation of 2D build drawings
  • Collaboration and interaction with the business areas involved in the project development (Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, Testing, Production)
  • Interface with suppliers to define the mechanical requirements of components

 

Skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical of Thermodynamic preferred) and a minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar role
  • Detailed understanding of HVAC system functions including refrigeration, thermodynamics, heat transfer, airflow and ventilation
  • Good understanding of the application of computer simulation tools and theory to HVAC system design
  • Expert CAD knowledge (preferably CATIA)
  • Expert knowledge of engineering materials
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes in thermoforming, plastic injection molding and metal processing
  • Ability to carry out static and dynamic mechanical analysis of complex systems
  • Fluency in English
  • Organizational skills and ability to work independently
