The Job


You will be part of the Documentation & Translation team based in Kampen (NL). The team currently consists of two technical editors and one translation coordinator. You will support one of the current Technical Writing & Translation Coordinator in her duties which she will gradually be passing on to you. This is part of an extended handover process.
Because this vacancy is for an off-site headquarters function, some travel to Gilching (DE) may be required. 




  • You take part in domain meetings to make sure that we are prepared to meet deadlines 
  • You use the information passed on by Technical Editors to reserve time and/or (re)prioritize scheduled tasks
  • You take part in daily scrums where team members exchange information about what they are working on
  • You prepare documents for translation in up to 33 languages by running these through Across to filter out any parts that have previously been translated 
  • You coordinate translations for all B2C documentation. You do this by working with several translators/translation agencies. You coordinate proofreading of all B2B documentation
  • You make sure that returned translations receive the correct layout, and make sure that you correct layout issues (pictures and text may have moved) 
  • You make sure that translated documents are randomly proofread by native speakers within Webasto
  • You coordinate internal translations for Webasto colleagues throughout Europe
  • You make sure that time spent on internal and third-party documents is administered and cross-charged




  • Experience in, and an obvious talent for, organizing and project leading 
  • Proficiency in English and /or German 
  • Feeling for technology
  • Good communication skills
  • Microsoft Office 2016 or later 
  • Good DTP skills (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, FrameMaker) 
  • Knowledge of Windchill 
  • Knowledge of Schema ST4 
  • Knowledge of SAP 
  • Knowledge of Trello
