- Responsible for ensuring that new products and/or changes of existing customer products are effectively launched in production in line with internal and customer expectations in terms of timing, cost, line performance, product safety and quality.
- Track on-time delivery through the entire value stream of parts by respecting requested quantity and quality.
- Set up a communication structure and connect to the Operational Teams for each process step in the value stream for efficient tracking of launches.
- Identify and highlight deviations and correct proactively regarding planning, material availability, quality and quantity.
- Assist and provide project support in risk situations.
- Preparing updates and alignments with the Program Management Team and Management Team.
- Interface between Operations, Planning, Purchasing and Program Management by coordinating effectively and considering key customer delivery dates and timely launch activities to meet those customer delivery dates.
- Tracking and managing budgeted launch costs and escalating potential and actual deviations in close cooperation with Production Line responsible, Program Management and Finance Team.
- Improvement of launch management activities and standards.
- Ensure the harmonization of launch management documents. Create handover milestone from launch phase to serial life.
- Prepare training documents and deliver launch-relevant training.
- Create a quarterly analysis of the quality performance of the current Webasto OE launches.
- Leading Workshops and Problem-Solving Workgroups, and follow-up of action plans to identify and eliminate systematical process issues.
- Tracking and communicating “lessons learnt” for future product and process improvements and other launches.
- Ensuring a smooth transition into serial production. During and after ramp-up, ensuring the identification and the effective management of design and cost improvement opportunities by using the standard change management process eventually in collaboration with a Serial Program Manager or Project Specialist Series OPQ.
- Potentially switch to a Serial Program Manager or Project Specialist Serie OPQ role and responsibility in Operations for the implementation of product and process changes that may be required during the project serial life cycle until End of Production (EOP), in close collaboration with the Program Management Team.
- Ensuring updates and alignments of the local Program Management System.
- Development, standardization and improvement of launch management activities and standards.
- Coordination of global projects within the region/business unit from a Launch Management point of view.
- Presenting and representation of the project towards all stakeholders (both internally and external customers).
- Customer oriented approach and ability to communicate with customers.
Here's what you can bring to the team:
- Degree in engineering / Project management or Launch project focus required
- Experienced in a similar role requiring advanced knowledge and skills. Practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
- Experience in project management and processes used in the automotive industry.
- Persistent in job execution, "never give-up" mentality, while chasing for parts to meet customer demand.
- Able to plan, follow and respect timelines.
- Knowledge of production principles and eager to learn technologies used in production processes.
- Basic knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements and product liability and product safety requirements.
- Basic knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO45001 and other relevant management systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Trust based relationship and interface to other key functions/departments.
- Coaching capabilities.
- Team player for creating and respecting supporting structure with rules.
- Advanced intercultural competencies.
- Ability to escalate problems at the appropriate level within the organization and implement solutions in a structured constructive way.
- Ensuring updates and alignments of local Program Management System in place.
- Hands-on mentality for taking care of product launch is efficient.
- Business fluent English is mandatory, German or French would be an asset
