Project Leader - Batteries

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Project Leader - Batteries is responsible for leading battery and thermal management projects through the acquisition process. This position tracks and monitors milestones thru the quote entry and quote release phases, and ensures proper transition to the Program Manager after production contract is secured. The Project Leader – Batteries coordinates between the regional, battery and thermal management business units to make sure resources are allocated, timelines are met and customer requirements are documented.

 

The Project Leader – Batteries is a key member of a significant growing eMobility market segment.  The position will work internally within the customized solutions business team in Fenton, Michigan and collaborate with colleagues in Germany, Italy and other global locations.

 

The ideal candidate will have a technical background and previous experience with high voltage products and systems (powertrains). Candidate should have functional knowledge of vehicle systems and previous project management experience.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Lead acquisition projects for battery and thermal management/cooling
  2. Track and monitor milestones for new acquisition projects
  3. Owner of acquisition phase: quote entry and quote release in PM2 process
  4. Coordinate between regional, battery and thermal management business units to make sure resources are allocated
  5. Report project deliverables and updates to management
  6. Collect and document customer requirements
  1. Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, Company Mission, vision, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, other related field or equivalent relevant work experience. 5 (five) years’ experience as project leader/project management with technical products (high voltage products desired).

 

Knowledge of:

  1. Project management processes and tools
  2. Technical understanding of high voltage products and vehicle systems (battery, powertrain and thermal management preferred) 
  3. Able to navigate / facilitate complex discussions with multiple departments and business units
  4. Proven experience with resource planning
  5. Familiarity with CRM systems (such as Microsoft CRM)
  6. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  7. Excellent organizational skills and verbal and communication skills

  3. Multi-task successfully while working independently or within a team environment
  1. Everyone has the responsibility and right to stop production or shipment if they suspect product does not meet quality requirements.
  2. Follow ISO9001 and ISO 14001 processes. TS 16949 and others as required.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds in order to move, lift and carry tools, products and materials.  

 

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.   Basic communication skills such as talking, seeing, and hearing are needed for frequent person-to-person contacts, and telephone usage.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions as stated above.  The nature of the work has frequent interruptions; contact with the public and clients requires strong communication skills.  May be required to work beyond normal working hours and job will require occasional domestic and international travel as driven by customer demand and/or necessity to secure new business (valid Passport required).

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but could be extensive based on customer location.
