Material Planner

Webasto is looking for:

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Develop, improve, and maintain manufacturing processes.  Investigate manufacturing and quality concerns, develop and implement corrective actions, and continuously improve stable processes.  Participate in activities to help Webasto achieve its Business Plan goals.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Ensures all material is properly stored, tagged, and moved per the ISO9000 Job Instructions.
  • Reports all accidents and damaged materials immediately to a supervisor.
  • Load and unload trucks on the dock as required
  • Ensure proper tagging of incoming material
  • Ensure that all material receipts are entered in ERP on shift received.  Include date received, time and signature on packing slip.
  • Verifies incoming material against a packing slip and outbound material against pick ticket to ensure material part number, description, and quantities are accurate and that product is not damaged
  • Ensure that putaway of received material is completed
  •  Maintains Material Master Data in ERP
  • Manages Inventory Issues
  • Works Closely with SCM and Engineering during engineering change process in order to coordinate release dates while minimizing excess / obsolete material
  • Looks for continuous improvement ideas
  • Supports Continuous improvement ideas
  • Responsible for housekeep of assigned designated areas within the department
  • All other required tasks

AUTHORITY

  • Contact emergency response team in case of environmental concern
  • Stop outbound shipment if product concern is identified
  • Main contact for inventory concern resolution

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Ability to perform basic math skills
  • Fork Lift (truck) license preferred or obtain within 30 days
  • Previous experience with Shipping / Receiving / Material Planning preferred
  • Computer literate with the ability to learn new software & systems
  • Ability to comply with company policies & procedures
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
  • Basic understanding of the English Language
