Webasto Roof Systems Inc. is currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Packaging & Logistics Intern located at their Auburn Hills Corporate Office.  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Learn the design, operational testing, quoting, and release of packaging during launch phase of development projects
  • Acquire packaging data sheet approval from plant departments, customers, and suppliers under the guidance of Packaging Engineers
  • Participate in PDT (Program Development Team) meetings
  • Analyze and perform logistics cost calculations
  • Promote supplier decision sourcing based on total landed cost calculations
  • Gain knowledge of packaging development phases to support program launch timing and design compliance
  • Complete projects assigned to improve SCM processes, data accuracy, and planning tools
  • Supports problem identification, research, and resolution 
  • Manage databases and input information, data, and records 
  • Support overall supply chain cost reductions in the areas of packaging investment, expendable expense, transportation, and handling costs through packaging design without sacrificing part quality or personnel safety
  • Develop documentation as required for work instructions & training
  • Other duties as assigned



Education & Experience:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering
  • Work experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in Supply Chain Management
  • Able to learn quickly and handle a fast-paced shop floor and office environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • A positive attitude and optimistic mindset
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio) and SAP
  • Knowledge of SAP R/3 processes and/or other IT Tools 
  • Knowledge of production systems, lean production, digitalization and general understanding of the Product Development Process 
  • Strong Ability to make data-driven decisions and high analytical skills
