Webasto is seeking motivated and electrically charged candidates, to join our team as a  Regional Customer Engineering Manager - Electrification at our North American headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI.   
 
What you will do – Essential Responsibilities

       •    Delivers technical product concept according to target (incl. list of parts) in coordination with Design, Testing, Prototyping and Mechatronics department
       •    Defines local development budget with Global CEM and project manager and meet targets
       •    Coordinates contents of technical specifications with customer and Global CEM and preparation of system specifications
       •    Assures actuality of all specifications and customer norms
       •    Integrates customer requirements into Webasto development 
       •    Interfaces to development department of customer 
       •    Provides technical communication to customer within all phases of product life cycle
       •    Implements approved innovations at customer 
       •    Realizes Webasto product strategy Interface to central R&D
       •    Represents technology in negotiations with OEM and coordination of impacts within project team in case of first step escalation (second step of escalation by global CEM)
       •    Offer approval (technical part)
       •    Local: Negotiates technical contents as well as R&D expenditures in negotiation with global CEM 
       •    Internal technical release from the clients point of view 
             • Concepts for product and production
             • Validation 
             • Approve internal development performance
             • Gateways
             • Approve prototypes
       •    Approves development projects in steering committee
       •    Supports in development and definition of product strategy and standards in alignment with customer requirements

 
The minimum requirements you will need 
       •    Technical degree required in Electrical Engineering or related field
       •    3 or more years of thermal/HVAC/battery experience with Tier 1 or OEM
       •    Professional experience within management in development teams and/or project management within automotive
       •    Interdisciplinary very technical understanding (production, assembly, electronics, mechanics, materials, testing,…)
       •    Superior knowledge of Thermal, HVAC and Battery systems
       •    Possesses distinctive cost awareness as well as strategic competence
       •    Excellent knowledge of market intelligence and customer requirements
       •    Very strong Business Development & Negotiation skills (technical acquisition)
       •    High proficiency in MS Office applications (excel, project, word, powerpoint)
       •    Knowledge in Windchill, VPM, FMEA, APQP, 8D
