Manufacturing Engineer Expert Automation & Design

Our Business Area Roof is the global market leader for sunroofs, panoramic roofs, and convertible roofs, offering roof solutions with true added value. As roof specialists, we also provide customized and innovative solutions that meet the highest quality standards for electric mobility, the future of autonomous driving, and the use of solar energy.

You can look forward to these exciting tasks

  • Identify and evaluate market trends and new automation technologies to drive continuous innovation in manufacturing
  • Define and align technical requirements and specifications throughout all project phases
  • Ensure the implementation and standardization of global automation guidelines, including PLC libraries and E-Plan standards
  • Oversee the design, planning, and optimization of new and existing production equipment and assembly systems
  • Manage technical interfaces and integration of equipment from multiple suppliers, ensuring seamless operation and system availability
  • Review and monitor the technical quality, documentation, and functionality of deliveries from external automation partners
  • Support installation, commissioning, and technical handover of production systems to plant operations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with global engineering teams to enhance system performance, safety, and reliability


This is what you bring to us

  • Strong background in automation, electrical, or mechatronic engineering with hands-on experience in production system design
  • Proficiency in PLC and robot programming (e.g., CC+, SPS, TIA Portal) and familiarity with MES, HMI, and EOL systems
  • Skilled in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and electrical design using E-Plan
  • Solid understanding of plant technologies such as screwing, dosing, conveyor systems, and transport automation (FTS)
  • Knowledge of CE marking, machinery directives, and maintenance best practices within automated environments
