Webasto is seeking highly motivated candidates that have experience ensuring excellent technical performance and optimum availability of production equipment to join our team as a Lead Engineer Development (full-time) at our facility in Auburn Hills, MI. Telecommuting permissible; Hybrid- 3 days in office, 2 days remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer interface for design review and address design/launch issues for automotive roofs and sunroofs.
- Coordinate internal design reviews to address concerns and provide direction on development and launch issues, under direction of management.
- Support internal/external build events.
- Creation of validation plans for design verification and production validation.
- Review design concept and drawing content to align with internal and customer requirements, as well as ensure all requirements are cascaded properly to sub-suppliers.
- Lead creation of design failure mode and effect analysis DFMEA and support production failure mode and effect analysis PFMEA development.
- Lead and support root cause analysis activities for issues presented in development and launch of product
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or foreign equivalent
- (3) three years of experience as an Automotive Product Engineer or similar position
- The (3) three years of experience must include experience performing all of the following duties: dealing directly with automotive customers; directly working with product deliverables accordingly customer specifications and competitive technical solutions; supporting engineering of automotive roof and power shades; conducting GD&T and part datum standards; conducting quality and engineering management system QEMS, 8D team-oriented problem-solving, CAD, DOE, GD&T, DFMEA, engineering change management, Robust Design, Six Sigma, and PTS
