IT Data & AI Intern

Data Analytics

 

  •   Build and iterate on dashboards (e.g., Power BI) and analysis notebooks (Python/SQL) to answer stakeholder questions.
  •   Profile datasets, document data quality issues, and create basic data validation checks, Translate business questions into analytical requirements and metrics definitions.

 

AI & Automation

 

  •   Prototype AI use cases (e.g., summarization, classification, forecasting) using tools such as Azure OpenAI, M365 Copilot Studio, Power Automate,                  or  Python libraries, Build Power Platform apps/flows for workflow automation and knowledge retrieval.
  •   Assist in creating and testing prompt templates, evaluating model outputs, and capturing feedback for iterative improvement.

 

IT & Product Ways of Working

 

  •  Work in sprints with a Product Owner and engineers, contributing to user stories, acceptance criteria, and demos.
      Maintain clean, well-commented code/reports and version control (Git).
  •   Help write runbooks, playbooks, and user guides; support production rollouts in partnership with IT.

 

What You’ll Learn (Outcomes)

 

  •   How enterprise IT teams deliver secure, governed analytics and AI.
  •   Hands-on with Power BI, Python/SQL, Power Platform, and Azure Data & AI services (exposure varies by project).
  •   Agile product practices: user story refinement, prioritization, and incremental delivery, Responsible AI principles (bias, privacy, security), and how we evaluate AI quality.

 

Basic Qualifications

 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science/Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, or related (or equivalent experience).
  •   Coursework or projects in SQL and at least one of Python / R / Power BI.
  •   Understanding of core data concepts: ETL, relational databases, data visualization, and basic statistics.
  •   Strong analytical thinking, communication, and a learning mindset.
