Electronics Technician

Webasto Roof Systems Inc. is currently recruiting for a Electronics Technician located at their HQ in Auburn Hills, MI.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Arranges test setups incorporating ECUs, edrives, sunroofs, harnessing and test equipment
  • Executes various tests including functional design validation plans (FDVP)
  • Assembles prototype ECUs and harnesses
  • Creates schematics, minor PCB layout, overall enclosure design including switches and instructive appliques for enclosure exteriors
  • Maintains sufficient stock of electronics lab materials, components and, equipment
  • Orders materials, components and equipment though SAP procurement system
  • Works with various suppliers of development software procurement and payment of fees and licensing thereof
  • Notifies department management of annual costs of materials, fees and licenses
  • Assists management in the day to day allocation of engineering student duties
  • Assists engineering students in the setup, execution, and, reporting of FDVPs
  • Programs various test equipment using LabVIEW
  • Arranges Vector CANoe bench test setup
  • Arranges Tessy testing systems
  • At the direction of engineering, creates user interfaces for testing using but, not limited to, C#, Visual Basic, etc.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Associates Degree or Technical school certification in electronics, computer or, equivalent engineering technology degree/certification
  • 4+ years of automotive electrical technician experience
  • Experience with various testing environments such as Vector equipment products, Tessy, and/or similar test environments
  • Experience in programing various user interface software such as C#, Visual Basic, etc.
  • Fine motor skills for soldering and PCB assembly & basic schematic and PCB layout skills
  •  Proficient in various test software such as LabVIEW and equivalent types
  • Proficient in the use electronics lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, data recorders, functional generators, VOMs, etc.
  • Ability to set up, operate and, troubleshoot various testing arrangements and lab equipmentAbility to understand basic engineering equations and technical relationships displayed using graphics and creates graphical output of test data.
