Controls Engineer

Webasto is seeking highly skilled technical professionals to provide key PLC controls expertise.  In this critical role you will support production and maintenance. You will also be responsible for process control improvements to decrease cycle time, reduce scrap and reduce costs.

What you will do – Essential Responsibilities

 

 

  • Programming, maintenance, and repairs of production equipment and related control units in line with maintenance plans to ensure constant availability of the technical systems
  • Writing programs/programming of PLC controls
  • Error analysis and correction in case of breakdowns
  • Ensuring constant availability of the system and support continuous improvement and process optimization of machines, tools, equipment, and processes
  • Application of simulation tools (e.g. plant and process simulator)
  • Virtual commissioning of relevant manufacturing equipment
  • Support the continuous improvement of machines, tools, equipment, and processes

 

 

When you will work

 

  • Typically, core business hours (Monday – Friday)
  • Some local travel required; ~10% travel

 

 

The minimum requirements you will need

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field of study
  • 3 years or more of Controls Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3 years or more experience with PLC logic, controls and Siemens programming
  • Knowledge of integrated and automated equipment
  • Knowledge of process optimization techniques
  • Experience working as a member of cross-functional teams

  • Experience with project/program launches preferred
  • Knowledge of MES and SAP
