Webasto Roof Systems Inc. is currently recruiting for a Acquisition & Costing Intern located at their Auburn Hills Corporate Offices.




Job Responsibilities:

  • Assess BOM complexity & requirements for acquisition projects
  • Calculate component and tooling cost with Costing and Tooling support within project acquisition
  • Preparation and evaluation of make-or-buy-concepts
  • Preparation of RFQ for new parts and changes within project
  • Design and coordination of supplier selection for new projects in collaboration with Category Purchasing
  • Coordinate early supplier involvement activities (RFQ´s, Technical Reviews)
  • Initiate actions to reduce costs within project
  • Estimate components based on surrogate data and extrapolation
  • Align and confirm BOM calculation with cross-functional groups to include: Program Purchasing, R&D, Sales, Supply Chain Management, Controlling
  • Analysis of cost deviations between target calculation and supplier quotes
  • Support global acquisition programs
  • Support Program Purchasing through sourcing based on acquisition assumptions


Education & Experience:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Prior internship experience a plus
  • Negotiation skills with distinctive target orientation
  • Experience with pronounced solution-based approach
  • Analytical, interdepartmental and customer-oriented thinking and acting
