Simulation Engineer

  • Create simulation and validation plans based on the legal and technical requirements
  • Estimate validation costs, expenditure and timing and coordinating all necessary resources
  • Create prototype build plans and manufacture parts as well as assembling and measuring functional samples and prototypes
  • Execute simulations and tests to verify and validate the design against the requirements and developing effective and efficient solutions based on the results
  • Virtual testing and validation of components and products across the organization within a specific field.
  • Perform field specific calculations according to standard load cases
  • Prepare CAD models and define modeling approach and boundary conditions according to standards
  • Perform basic calculations for standard applications in at least one other application field
  • Evaluate results, identify, and propose design optimizations
  • Interpret, present, document and archive calculation results
  • Coordinate simulation related topics internally and with external simulation partners and customers across all development and product phases
  • Check design and requirements prior to all calculations. If necessary, advise changes before performing simulations
  • Coordinate design or requirement changes with Development-/Lead-Engineers. Asses if further calculations are necessary
  • Compare test and calculation results. In case of mismatch, identify causes in collaboration with testing. If necessary, adjust test or simulation

 

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of a specific simulation field (e.g. structural, crash, vibration, fluid flow, thermal, multibody, electronics, acoustics, optics)
  • Basic knowledge of at least one other simulation field
  • Good design knowledge in the automotive, aerospace or similar sectors
  • Good experience with simulation tools (e.g. ABAQUS, PERMAS, ANSYS CFX/Fluent, ANSYS Workbench, ANSYS Mechanical or other specific software)
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and manufacturing technologies (plastic injection molding, metal processing and/or other special fields)
  • Ability to discuss and explain complex relationships
  • Technical university degree (mandatory)
  • Between 3 and 5 years of experience in automotive quality field
  • Practical and exercised experience with problem solving activities
  • Willing to practice learning by doing
  • Excellent communication and social skills
  • SAP knowledge

  • Self-motivated
